A leisurely 8-day walking tour in the midst of Japan’s gorgeous Cherry Blossom season. This small-group tour takes you on four easy to moderate historical walks trailing along an ancient merchant’s highway in the backdrop of cherry blossom. Follow some of the most beautiful and enjoyable parts of the ancient highway that links Kyoto and Tokyo.

Small Group
With a maximum of 8 travellers on this tour, it means we can have the best of both organized and personalized tour. It will be executed efficiently and seamlessly yet we will still have room to enjoy for spontaneity.We try our best to accommodate your personal request as much as possible.
Walk
We will trail along Japan's ancient highway, Nakasendo. We walk through rural countryside deep into the mountains and explore well-preserved charming post towns, which have survived into the modern world. This is not a trekking tour, anyone who enjoys walking is welcome. The average walking distance/day is about 5 km.
Regional Culture
Expect to reveal layers of culture on this tour. We will start from Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, now a center of Japanese culture. Then off to a picturesque canal town once prospered with wealthy merchants before starting the walk. During the walk, you will enjoy a wide range of rural and regional culture which remains meticulously.
Regional Culinary
We take our food and beverage seriously. It is one of the highlights of our tours. We will visit Kyoto’s renowned Sake brewing district on this tour and taste the freshest Sake. While walking, we will enjoy experiencing Shinshu regional food just like the messengers back in old days.
